2 dead after 2nd small plane crash in Alaska within a week – National

KETCHIKAN, Alaska – Authorities say a pilot and a single passenger have died after a small airplane crashed Monday close to Ketchikan.

Ketchikan Gateway Borough spokeswoman Deanna Thomas says in a launch that the Taquan Air operated Beaver floatplane crashed in Metlakatla Harbor round four p.m. Nobody in addition to the deceased was on board the plane.

Thomas says the names of the deceased gained’t be launched till their households have been notified.

She says the circumstances of the crash usually are not being launched right now.

Good Samaritans are towing the Beaver to the seashore till it may be secured.

The accident comes per week after a Taquan Air Beaver floatplane collided with one other floatplane in Ketchikan, which is about 14 miles (23 kilometres) from Metlakatla Harbor, leaving six folks lifeless.
