STAR Wars fans are about to get one step closer to actually flying the Millennium Falcon themselves.

Leaked footage from the new ride at Disney’s Star Wars parks shows what guests can expect when they get on to the ride – and are able to zoom around on the legendary spacecraft.

The footage from WDW News Today, taken at the GPU Technology Conference, shows the ride – which is still in development – and gives a very good feel of what’s to come.

Lucky riders will be able to pilot the spaceship, shoot at things and try and dodge enemy fire.

In the background, menacing Star Wars music plays out, adding to the atmosphere.

In the leaked footage, it’s confirmed: “This is all in real time.”

The two new Star Wars-themed lands will be called ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ and will open at Disney’s Florida and California theme parks in 2019

Disney creative executive Scott Trowbridge previously revealed: “We’ve all seen her on screen, but until you climb through that hatch, walk through her hallways, sit inside the cockpit, power her up and actually FLY her yourself, it’s not quite the same.”

The ride will come to Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019.

At the two new signature attractions at both theme parks, guests will face encounters with characters including BB8, Chewbacca, Rex and Kylo Ren.

Unlike other theme parks, a plotline can follow guests throughout their day on the different attractions as the entire park is being created as an immersive theatre experience.

There will be a presence of the First Order and the Resistance just walking around the streets, involving guests in smaller experiences away from the rides

Guests can “build a reputation” at Star Wars Land, so what you do on one ride could affect what happens on others.

If you bring back Han Solo’s ship from an asteroid run heavily damaged, someone might not be happy with you later in the day.

If visitors do well while piloting the Falcon they’ll be rewarded with extra Galactic Credits, but if not, they may find themselves hunted by a bounty hunter elsewhere in the park.

There will also be the first ever fully immersive Star Wars-themed hotel, where guests live inside the story.

The hotel will be built as a spaceship and all of the windows look out on outer space, while the guests are all given costumes from the moment they check in.

Staff will remain in character at all times and according to Disney, guests are each given their own storyline to act out during their stay.
