Norman Arundel, Director of Accommodations at Atura’s mother or father firm Occasion Hospitality and Leisure, says that Adelaide Airport “has grown considerably lately and passengers demand the comfort of a detailed lodge.” And it’s certainly shut, with direct covered-walkway entry to ‘Departures’ from the lodge’s second stage, and ‘Arrivals’ from the bottom flooring.
The remainder of Atura’s seven ranges comprise convention and occasion areas (airport marriage ceremony, anybody?) and 165 rooms, with both metropolis or relatively spectacular airport runway views.

Externally Atura is a minimalist concrete and glass assemble (greater than a bit Jap Bloc from some angles)…however contained in the tone lightens. Dipping into a unusual design grab-bag, the lodge options classic aviation pictures, geometric pastel rugs, uncovered metallic air-con ducts, polished concrete flooring and natural-tone plywood bedheads – a bit retro, a bit industrial and a complete lot cool.
Keep in your room if you happen to like – floor-to-ceiling home windows are double-glazed to maintain the native jet-engine thrum to a minimal. However the floor flooring is the place the motion is. Past 24-hour reception is a roomy café/restaurant which opens at 5am and serves until 11pm, and a moody bar which pours drinks until even later. The undisputed spotlight right here is the outsized pool desk: sip a whisky bitter, verify the flickering ‘Departures’ display screen then end your sport (eight ball, nook pocket).
